Chilling out with the ski slope in the background
Donnersbachwald offers quite a few opportunities. Swimming in the Badesee in Donnersbachwald is one of them. On warm days, this is a great place to hang out. Lazing around on the grass, occasionally playing with the ball on the surrounding sports fields and, if it gets too hot, cooling off in the Badesee. You can do all that and it’s completely free.
The Badesee is a small, man-made swimming pond. It’s filled with crystal-clear mountain water. In summer, it’s a paradise for children. It can also be a pleasant way for adults to cool off. Next to the swimming pond is a lovely grassy area where you can stretch out on your towel. Read a book, have a natter… and all with the ski slope in the background.
To make it all even more fun, there’s some playground equipment for the children right next to the grassy area. Sports enthusiasts will also find plenty to keep them occupied. There’s a court for playing beach volleyball. In short, everything’s there to ensure a lovely, relaxing family outing.
Parking is no problem. You can simply park your car at the side of the road. Please note that there is no supervision. Don’t forget to put armbands on the little ones and, above all, keep a close eye on them.
You can really unwind here. On a warm day, there might be a few people around, but it’s never really busy. That’s precisely what makes Donnersbachwald so lovely. You can simply enjoy yourself without the crowds of tourists.
After a swim in the Badesee in Donnersbachwald, we head back to Haus Erna to relax a little longer with a lovely drink on our covered terrace.
