By mountain bike to the Planneralm

In Donnersbachwald, there are plenty of leisure options. At the valley station of the Riesneralm, you can rent bikes, plan a nice route and have a nice trip by bike.

Mountain biking in the mountains

You can rent mountain bikes at the Riesneralm valley station. We opt for electric mountain bikes, of course. With these, you can ride up a mountain with ease. Especially if you put them on turbo mode. From Donnersbachwald several routes are available. It is difficult to choose but ultimately the group’s preference is to cycle to the Planneralm.

We follow the main road towards Donnersbach. At some point, we cycle along the river. Here we take the second bridge to the right. A little further on, we take the road to the left. The signpost had disappeared here. That’s why we hesitated a bit but it turned out to be the right choice after all. We follow the gravel road until we reach the tarmac road towards Planneralm. We then follow the tarmac road. First we pass the Schrabachalm. We ourselves will not stop here this time but for people who have not yet been there, it is definitely worth a visit. On the Planneralm, we take a nice lunch with the summer view of the ski slopes in the background. We then begin our descent and drive back to Donnersbachwald along the same road.

On a bike, of course, you take a bit fewer photos. Below are some atmospheric images anyway.
